honk

Beginner-friendly ham-radio programming, CHIRP-compatible.

Programming a handheld radio is most people’s first wall in amateur radio: a spreadsheet of frequencies, CTCSS tones, offsets and flags, with terminology that assumes you already know it.

honk is the on-ramp. It keeps the full power of a CHIRP-style codeplug but wraps it in an interface that explains what each field does and guards against the classic mistakes — wrong offset direction, mismatched tones, duplicate channels.

Because it reads and writes CHIRP-compatible files, it slots into the tools the community already uses instead of asking anyone to start over.
